The city of Loreto is said to be the oldest land which has been inhabited by humans in the state of Baja California Sur. The city of Loreto was also the very first capital for the state of Baja California Sur. It was founded as one of the many Spanish Missions in the city of California and its founder was Juan Maria de Salvatierra. He was a Jesuit priest and laid the foundation of the city somewhere during the year 1697.

As per the census of year 2005 the city of Loreto had the population of around 10000 inhabitants which isn’t huge for such a famous tourist destination. This makes the city of Loreto as the perfect place to visit as you won’t find the headaches which the modern metro cities might deliver.

The annual average temperature for the city of Loreto is around 25 degree Celsius. The months between June and October are hot and humid thus you should plan your trip to this city accordingly. The highest temperature for the city of Loreto can touch the heights of around 35 degree Celsius during the summer season. The highest temperature ever recorded in the city of Loreto was 39 degree Celsius which was somewhere during the year of 1965. The lowest ever recorded was around 5.4 degree Celsius somewhere during the year of 1971.
