Although in last couple of years the importance of this city’s port has decreased considerably due to cut - throat competition with other neighboring ports yet this port is being used by many containers so as to load and unload various packets as per requirements. Recently around 40 percent of growth in these ports was experienced when the government of this city took some serious steps to increase the value of this port.

Railway lines hit the city of Trieste somewhere in the year of 1857 and since then have become an important transport system so as to travel from one part of the city to the other. The railway network of this city connects Trieste to some major cities of Italy like those of Venice, Milan, and Rome of course. When it comes to air transport then the locals as well as the tourists of this city use the neighboring Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport.
