  BRASILIA, BRAZIL TOURIST ATTRACTIONS 

Brasilia is the capital of Brazil, and was built specifically to be such.  The state capital was once located close to the coast and was moved to be more centrally located in the country.  The city has a diverse culture, with an emphasis on music and arts.  Some of the world’s greatest painters lived in Brasilia.

Brasilia hosts a large number of political rallies, music events, and movie festivals.  Festivals are common place in this beautiful city, and draw tourists from around the world.  One of the more popular events is held in June and it is called Festas Juninas, and it celebrates the Catholic saints, Saint Peter and Saint Anthony.  Christmas is the most popular holiday, bringing great celebrations and revelry.   New Year’s Eve brings lavish parties and great fun.

Brasilia is also home to a wide variety of artists in every possible field.  Museums abound and the city welcomes new artists with open arms.  Brasilia is a great place to try out something new or adventurous.  Hang gliding and wind surfing are very popular with locals and visitors, and tourists often find great pleasure in taking lessons.  The shopping avenues are extensive, with unique and varied stores.

 One of the best restaurants you can find in Brasilia is Porcao.  This restaurant has a great interior and really terrific service.  One of the nice things about this restaurant is that it operates with the rodizio system.  This means you will pay one price for any meal and you eat all that you want.  However, drinks and dessert are not included and are available for a more expensive price than you would find elsewhere in the city. 

 Another restaurant that offers its cuisine at one price is Spettus, located in the hotel sector of the city.  This restaurant has one of the best salad and dessert bars you can find.
