  ROSARIO, ARGENTINA TOURIST ATTRACTIONS 

Rosario, Argentina is one of the most common tourist areas in the country.  The Parana River borders the city, creating a beautiful backdrop as you stroll along one of the many walking paths found in this city.

The most popular tourist attraction is Monumento Historico Nacional a la Bandera Argentina.  This is a beautiful, sprawling memorial to General Manual Belgrano, who is interred in the base of the monument.

Parque Independencia, which translates to Independence Park, and the La Florida Beach, offer a wide array of biking, canoeing, and other outdoor activities.  Other popular tourist activities include learning to dance the Tango, or play the guitar and drums. 

The Museo de Arte Contemporaneo is located next to the Parana River and the city’s old train station.  It opened in 2004 and contains an eclectic mix of works of art.  The top floor offers a great view of the river and islands nearby.  It is actually an old grain elevator and this makes for an interesting building on the Rosario skyline.

 The Rosaio-Victoria Bridge was built in 2003 and connects Rosario to Victoria.  Construction actually started in 1998, but it was interrupted many times due to economic concerns.  Many tourists visit the beaches in Victoria.  There are actually many bridges that connect the roadway to Victoria, touching several islands along the way.  This bridge is visible from the waterfront and offers a unique visual for the city.  Nuestra Senora del Rosario” (Our Lady of Rosario), is the official name of this bridge. Shopping is also plentiful in Rosario.  Raices, a shop in “el centro” which is the main shopping area, is a great place to pickup leather belts, wallets, and handbags.  If you are looking for discount merchandise, visit any of the street venders outside of the shopping mall and close to the National Monument.
