This is a port city, is part of the ports of departure for the big transatlantic. Rotterdam became a city officially in 1340, with massive evolution in the passing of the years, so it became from fishing village, an international transport, trade and industry center Unfortunately, during the Second World War, the whole downtown was destroyed, but the city has managed to rise from the ashes and today is a modern city.

I am quite confused on what are you talking about in this article, is it about Rotterdam's History, or as a whole with it's history, sights, tourist spots or something. It seems you did not finish this article, no proper ending so to speak. Maybe trying to clear things out here in your article will make the article more informative to readers.

This connected the city with the major towns of the northern region and started various possible business level activities with neighboring countries like Germany, England, and Holland.
