When any of us think about the Galapagos we usually think of huge tortoises and Charles Darwin the man who created the idea of evolution. The Charles Darwin Station is a must see when you are on the island of Santa Cruz. Here lives one of the most impressive living creators at the moment Lonesome George (the last galapagos tortoise from the island pinta). Each Island has a different species of tortoises and a lot of these islands no longer have tortoises roaming the island. This one in particular is huge and has been having trouble trying to mate. Check out the video link that I have posted and take a look for yourself.

How to get there:
Fly from Quito or Guayaquil directly to Baltra Island. This is a small island parallel to Santa Cruz Island.
