The land on which today the city of Buenos Aires is located was abandoned by the settlers due to internal revolts in the year of 1541. By 1580, another settlement founded by Juan de Garay came into being on this land. This second settlement gave the city the name of Holy Trinity and only the port of this city was called Buenos Aires.
