Valparaiso Travel Guide, Florida

Valparaiso, FL US - Overview: A Pastoral Haven

Valparaiso lies at an elevation of 46 feet from the sea level in the Central Standard Time zone of the US. The city is very sparsely populated by 6,400 people. Less than 7 percent of the city area is covered with water. About a decade ago, what shaped out the city of Valparaiso today is a virgin forest patch, owned by the federal government. Eglin Air Force Base, near the city, is the world’s largest air force installation.

Location and Climate

The city is situated near the Fort Walton metro area in the state of Florida. Valparaiso has a warm subtropical climate, very humid due to the coastal effect of the Atlantic. This means that the place is on top when it comes to winter tourist destinations.

Accommodations

Accommodations are neatly spread out for different budgets. Quality Hill Niceville and Hilltop Motel are extremely well adept in catering the needs of the tourists coming from across the globe. The Eglin AFB hotel is also doing rather well, as its services and accommodation facilities are at the highest level.

Culture & Festival

The Billy Bowlegs Festival and the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival have inspired the tourists with their repertoire, setting a carnival spirit among the masses. Florida Gulf Coast is quite a resplendent view and it can easily create the old feeling when leisure was still a fine art.

Foods & Beverages

Restaurants serve great ethnic food and pour out sumptuous global cuisines for all its visitors. They marry presentation with unique food and at the same time, they provide ambient atmosphere for enjoying the meal. Mama Rosa’s Pizza, Smoothie King and Starbucks are right up the ladder, when it comes to top restaurants in the city.

Both locals and foreigners can get great value for money, when looking for quality beverages. Nightclubs and bars are spread all across the city. Thursday is the day of the week when the fun is at its pinnacle in Valparaiso. The harbor zone is replete with conventional bars.

Overall, Valparaiso means a pastoral shade within a contemporary arcade.
