Beirut Nightlife, Lebanon
The nightlife of Beirut can be likened to a start of a fireworks display - booming but not yet in full swing. Maybe due to the still conservative nature of the Lebanese people or the still visible ravages of the civil war, Beirut is although already a popular destination, but still has room to grow. However, while some pubs and nightclubs close, others continue to operate and other undergo renaming but nightlife in Beirut goes on.
To date, three popular streets spell the nightlife fun in Beirut. They are Rue Monot, Gemmayze, and Rue Bliss. All of these are in the district of Ashrafieh or just surrounding it. Gemmayze is a street lined with pubs and restaurants. For those in search for the perfect drinks, one can head down to the Dragonfly Pub for the best tasting bee and the beautifully concocted cocktails, which are valued at the best prices. Should you be looking for an Irish time of fun, still in the Gemmayze are two Irish bars known as Hickey’s and Molley’s Malone. While the whole street has the best sources for drinks, the restaurants are hard to miss as well. For a touch of Western steakhouse, the perfect destination is the Mandaloun Grill. For those looking for French cuisine, Adam is the place to go. Alternatively, Soto is the heaven for the Japanese people and Japanese food lovers.
Apart from these choices, coffee will never go wrong fro anyone. Whether a chat or a serious talk, when it is done over a cup of coffee, it is made all the more worthwhile. The coffee shops that line the street provide the perfect ambiance and backdrop for these simple yet important bonding times. The other streets that spell night fun for Beirut is the Rue Bliss. Alternatively called Hamra, it widens the choices for restaurants, pubs and nightclub available in other parts of the city. Likewise, Rue Monot, probably the most popular of the three, is the banner street for the Lebanese nightlife in this city.
The good thing about this three streets is that they are not far from each other making transfers of venues easy and convenient. A caution though, the Lebanese people have a penchance to dress up and look good; therefore, you must be at your best attire always.
Nightlife in Beirut spells fun, fun, fun. Therefore, when in Beirut, take time to explore the city streets especially the district of the Ashrafieh because it is a place where people converge to have fun the whole night.
