Surakarta Sights and Landmarks Guide, Indonesia

 Surakarta, Indonesia is located in the middle of the island of Java.  This beautiful city offer many recreational opportunities and tourist attractions. 

The city is surrounded by gorgeous mountains and the people are friendly and helpful. This city offers something for everyone.  There is bowling available in Jl Cokroaminoto, dance lessons for traditional Javanese dances, and golf at the Adi Sumarmo Golf Course. 

 The city is also crazy about football and Persis is the favorite national team.  When the team plays at Manahan Stadium, people in red shirts come to town in support of their team!  You can even play croquet in Cepogo.

For those wanting a little more adventure, horseback riding is available at some of the mountain visitor spots.  The horses are small, but strong and you can find everything from a short ten minute ride to a five hour long trip to the Gua Maria Cave.  Horse Riding - is available in most of the mountain tourist spots.  

White Water Rafting is available as well.  Unless you want to do a lot of paddling, this is probably best done during the wet season.  All equipment is provided and the guides are very qualified. The cinema and theater houses are very prevalent as well.

Solo Grand has a cinema that shows first run movies and another is located in the Matahari Singosaren building.  There are also several older theater houses in the city as well.

Time zone is a kid’s attraction, with motorcycle simulators and great video games.  There is also a water park attraction as well.

As you can see there is something for everyone here.  From the beautiful mountains that surround Surakarta, to the beaches less than an hour away, you will definitely find something for everyone’s tastes.  Consider a visit to this city on your next holiday.
