Another trip to Oradea, Romania

Another trip to Romania and another trip away from good old Ravensburg. My trip was kind of weird, usually it's a no hassle quick trip as I take the airplane from Stuttgart or Munich to fly into Budapest and then a bus is waiting for me to take me to my final destination; Oradea, Romania. My mother was driving me to Stuttgart this timeas she was going to drive on to Freiburg and we decided to have some chatting time in the car, which was nice. We ended up with a lot of extra time, as one of my friends in Stuttgart called for a road block due to some maintanance works on th freeway A8. Unreal how they took us across the swabian alpes for about 80km driving in first and second gear the whole time. This was the longest it ever took me to get there, about 4 hours... Wow. Anyhow, I met with some friends for dinner and we still had at least a little time there to chat and enjoy the rest of the day.
Afterwards I got on the plane and finally arrived in Budapest after a good 7 hour trip... I could have taken the car and would have been just as fast. After this I was supposed to have a 2 hour break until my bus arrived, but it turned out that this was more like a 3 1/2 hour wait. I was lucky because the name they put down in the passenger list was completely off and the company that was picking me up had a different name than what i expected as well. Anyhow, I didn't care, I said that I am that guy and hopped on the bus. It turned out that I really was that guy, but I had no clue about that. I arrived in Romania at around 4:30am ouch. All dead I was ready to get to work the next day only to find out that my silly laptop seemed to be broke, hmm so everything going very well so far. I took the computer to the shop and went to play some basketball, not bad either:) I hope that it will be fixed by tomorrow as I don't want to write these journal entries on my MDA, kind of of a hassle...
Today is a free day and I went to a bbq with my co-workers. The place is crazy, a small village and I noticed that nothing had changed in the past 20 years... Still no real streets and everything run down. I am sure those guys have high speed internet though. That's todays Romania, depressing, motivating, and always surprising in every way. Today will be some quiet time, maybe a movie, dinner and maybe a bar and a few drinks:) What pisses me off is that I don't have HBO. I must be the only household here without HBO. I even have Playboy TV and some porn channel, hmm, but not the good stuff... I guess I will end up watching discovery, and national geographic... Dang, where is my computer.
Anyhow, I will keep you guys updated

Oradea Sights
You can start your sightseeing tour at the very symbol of the city: Oradea’s Fortress. The beginnings of the pentagonal Fortress date back to the 11th century, when it was erected, initially to defend a Virgin Saint Mary monastery. Later, the Fortress gave home to the Roman-Catholic Bishopric of Oradea, and became the religious, political, military and administrative centre of the town, being renown and frequently visited by kings and other important personalities from the middle-European history, serving even as burial place for many of these honorary persons. Though the Fortress of Oradea had been seriously affected by numerous... Read more »
