This Neusiedler See lake is both on the territory of Hungary (here it is called FertÅ‘ tó) and Austria. We visited it on the Austrian part. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and both the landscape and the lovely towns around the lake are amazing.

There are a lot of birds, many of the visitors come because they say it's one of the best places for bird observation in Central Europe.
We enjoyed the nature and the lake, it was great and not very crowded.

Mayrhofen Travel guide

Among the activities you can choose from in summer there are: mountain climbing, hiking in the Naturpark Zillertaler Alps, swimming, fishing, playing tennis or golf, cycling, hang gliding and skiing while in winter the favorite is skiing, skiing for all ages and all levels. Starting with the little ones and ending with the expert skiers they all enjoy an unforgettable experience. You’ll see all kinds of people at Mayrhofen and families with children are among the most. Probably due to the great ski school for children they find here and the facilities and expert trainers they find. Other winter activities on the list are ice-skating,... Read more »
