Transportation in Korce, Albania

Concerning the transport paragraph I am rather surprised - having worked in Albania for three years and knowing Korce pretty well, I can tell you that the only international airport in Albania is located near the capital Tirana, so you might run into trouble telling a cab driver to bring you to Korce airport.

Albania has no international passenger railway connection, only a cargo track to Montenegro. Further, Korce does not have a railway station, as there is no railway - thus no need.

Neither is there a tram or a public transportation system (ex. privately organised buses to other towns/villages and "furgons", i.e. minibuses for passenger transport).

In a nutshell, it was a quite amusing read, but - unfortunately for this otherwise very nice place (and my favourite town in Albania) - is unfortunately only a joke.

"Due to its strategic location near traditional commercial routes between Albania and its neighbors, Korce has a strongly developed transport infrastructure. Traveling to Korce is easiest by air arriving on the Korce Northwest Airport with regular or charter flights.

Railways also have a well developed network connecting Korce with any other important city in Albania or neighbor countries. Within the city the public transport is available to any tourist, the municipality offering bus and tram routes for an easier transfer from one side of the city to another."

Hey,

Thank you for bringing this into our attention, we have corrected the article as you can see by clicking the "Read about Korce" link.
I did a quick research and I could find the mentioned airport:

However I think there are only charter flights flying to Korce and I have no idea about how much could one costs.

You seem like a person with much travel experience and I'm sure the info you have provided will help other travelers, so thanks again and keep on!

cheers
