by But there are some places worth a look. The city walls are still preserved and you can visit the fortifications and two forts „Las Galeras“ und „San Julian“ above the city on big rocks. Above the harbour lies another castle, from the 11th century, the „Castillo de la Concepción“.
On the „Plaza del Ayuntamiento“ you can see the remnants of an ancient roman theater and the rests of the catherdal „Santa Maria la Vieja“, destroyed in the spanish civil war.
Besides that, you can go to several museums, that show you ancient roman, karthagian and arabian findings, „Museo Arqueológico Municipal“. Also a naval museum is located there, the „Museo Naval“.
Altogether you can visit the city, if you are close.
