When we lived in New York City every year we visited the Holiday Train Show in the Bronx Botanical Garden.It is very entertaining for kids and adults too. You can see replicas of New York City landmarks and bridges,more than 140 from all 5 borough and yes, model trains too.They constucted entirely from natural materials: wood,twigs,cloves, leaves and mushrooms. I can recommend it for everyone who wants to get in the holiday spirit on a chilly winter day:)

The best known place with which any layman on this planet is accustomed with is the Statue of Liberty. You need to to book a ticket in advance if you want to visit the museum which is located at the base of the statue.
