The Ottoman Empire was the suzerain of the land somewhere during the start of 17th century. Suzerain is that empire which is the head of the state but the internal affairs of the state are managed by the local rulers. During this rule, the Ottoman Empire and even the local princes never took care of the city and hence Bucharest degraded during the Ottoman rule. Located in the proximity of the old prince court is Lipscani, a historical road which was known as Ulita Mare somewhere during the year 1589.
