This church has become a sort of visiting card for Vilnius. It is considered to be the masterpiece of late Lithuanian Gothic. It's a must to see it while visiting Vilnius. The small church is situated in front of the Bernardine Church and forms with it a single architectural ensemble.

There is a still alive legend that when during his conquests Napoleon came to Vilnius and saw this church he said he would like to take it on his palm and bring to France.

The Neogothic bell tower was added in 1874.

Till this day it conducts as a Roman Catholic Church.
