This zoo is like a paradise for children or for adults who still cherish their inner child, for that matter. It has everything from petting animals to climbing rocks. One of the favorites of the children is the Enchanted Forest with a huge tree, logs, a small stream and lots of fresh air. :)

You can also meet the animals from up close, ride camels or feed giraffes. But if you're into something more adventurous than the Wild Walk is the place to go. It is like a fitness exercise but much more educational and much more fun! Our kids loved that, especially that they are quite hyperactive and keen on new info, they were excited about the whole 'tour'! I'm glad we went there!

Address:
455 N Galvin Parkway

Price:
Adults $12, children $9

Opening Hours:
7 a.m. – 2 p.m.

How to get there:
Get to center of Papago Park, where you have to turn down on Galvin Parkway to get t the zoo's entrance. More details on their website.

Phoenix Travel guide

If the heat gets too unbearable, you can cool down on the east side of town at the Big Surf water park. It is the perfect place for both families and singles where you can ride 5ft waves or go down waterslides into a giant freshwater lagoon. It is true that summers can get really hot and not everybody can stand the heat, but winter, when temperatures rarely drop below 65F, is preferred by many [...]
