Sightseeing buses may seem as a waste of time and money, but in the case of towns like Oxford I would say that they are the perfect choice. Oxford official tour bus tickets have an affordable price and if you purchase a ticket you get reduced fees at many of the Oxford sights. The tour starts in front of the Railway station and you can hop off and hop on at many different places. On the bus you get free earphones and the sightseeing tour is in many different languages.
It is a fun thing to do and because the bus has an open top you can even take pictures without getting off the bus. If you want to get off, which I'm sure you will the bus stops at 19 different sights.
