Cu chi tunnel is a great place to visit to understand how the Viet Congs launched surprise attacks against Americans in the 1960’s.  This place has numerous displays of real live traps and display of weapons, food and tunnels which the Viet Congs constructed during the war. One great tip would be to hire a guide to bring you around this place as it would be more fruitful to understand in details how the tunnels were constructed. One can get a tour guide simply by asking the hotel reception for advice.

These tunnels are long and deep in length. Thus it will be a great experience to go into this tunnel to actually get a real feel on how the people then used to travel within it. Another tip here is to bring lots of water as it can get really hot and tiring as you travel within the tunnels.
