Mission History

Mission Travel Guide

Initially occupied by tribes of the Native American Coahuiltecans that survived on natural resources for a period of 1,000 years, the area where it lies now was earlier called La Lomita. It was in the year 1908 that Mission was founded as a town along with the establishment of the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
