Irving is just a 15-minute drive away from one of the largest airports in the country which is the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport.  Love Field Airport is also close to Irving. While the former serves international flights, the latter could be used for domestic flights only.

Climate

The climate in Irving varies from long warm summer days to cold winter nights.  During summer months, the temperature goes as high as 90 but there are days when the heat exceeds 100 degrees Fahrenheit.  From the month of November until January, the temperature drops to 60's.  Rainfall occurs during the spring and autumn seasons but flooding is not a major concern in case of heavy downpours.

Activities

Irving has variations of beautiful landscapes that range from gently sloping hills to oak trees that have been in existence since the times of yore.  Several outdoor activities like boat tours, golf, sightseeing, and leisure.

The best place you can go to if you want to play golf is the Twin Wells Golf Course. If you want to have a Venetian experience through gondola rides, you can go to Mandalay Canals.

If you are a sports fan, you can catch games like major league baseball, football games, and hockey matches.  You can also visit the equestrian centre for a different kind of sporting event.  Racing events also happen at the Texas Motor Speedway.Sights

Irving, like any other place, has a rich historical and cultural background.  This heritage is immortalized through different architectural structures and other venues.  If you are a lover of the arts, a visit at the Jaycee Park Center of the Arts or at Kimbell Art Museum where some of the masterpieces of the great artist Rembrandt would be a fun trip for you.  For performing arts fanatics, the finest places for you in the city are the Casa Mañana Theatre and the Majestic Theatre.  Another place worthy of your time is the Mustangs of Las Carolinas which is really a grandiose scene.
