Klamath Falls is a beautiful small city of Klamath County at the southern edge of Oregon, the United States. Earlier, Klamath Falls was called Linkville when the great George Nurse actually founded this town in 1867, after River Link. At the very north end of Klamath Falls is the amazing Klamath Lake that adds to the great charm of the region. All the views of this enthralling place are spectacular and serve as the perfect tourist destination. By the south of the city, the incredibly snow capped Mount Shasta can be seen. In fact, the very outlying areas are exclusive farm lands as far as the sight can go.

The city of Klamath falls is situated at an elevation of almost 4099 feet. As per the census bureau of the United States, the total area of Klamath Falls is 18.7 square meters or say, 48.5 square kilometers. Out of this, almost 46.3 square kilometers is land while 2.2 square kilometers is water. The place has a landscape of high desert while the older parts of this city sit over geothermal natural springs. These geothermal springs have been used by people for heating streets and the homes especially in the downtown area. Klamath Lake (upper) is actually the largest fresh water body that lies towards the west of Great Lakes.

The Sky Lakes Medical center happens to be the largest of the employers in this region then comes the Klamath Falls City School District along with JELD- WEN. The latter actually manufactures windows and doors. Klamath Falls is home to 173rd Fighter-Wing of Oregon Air National Guard and is stationed at the airbase of the Kingsley Field. The Kingsley Filed also harbors the 186th Oregon Army National Guard infantry.

The national rail system called the Amtrak serves Klamath Falls extensively. It operates the Coast Starlight in both directions daily between Washington, Los Angeles, Seattle and California.

Klamath Falls Festivals, OR, US

The International Migratory Bird Day Festival that is held annually is the most popular of the festivals of Klamath Falls. It occurs in the month of May at the Veterans Park and is aimed at increasing bird community awareness among people. It includes great bird walks, historic walks at Link River, and demonstrations of mist netting, bird Olympics, rehab presentation of wildlife and the bird migration obstacle-courses.
