Paradise History, Nevada

Paradise, Nevada refers to a small town under the jurisdiction of Clark County. A tag of a “small town” is actually based on the fact that it’s just a political designation that covering certain parts of Clark County and Las Vegas. The designation is often used by the government to conduct census in the area. Paradise, Nevada actually covers the airport, its university and even significant parts of the strip. This made Paradise, Nevada a very significant area in Las Vegas.  

Since Paradise, Nevada is technically not a town, they don’t have politically recognized leaders. However, they do have leaders in the community that are often recognized as authority in organizing the community. They are in charge in zoning, keeping the community safe or even organize community based activities wherein everyone could have some fun sometime. The funds that are used in Paradise, Nevada as a non-political community come from the County. With the presence of the airport, university and hotels, it is easy to say that Paradise, Nevada could easily grow and improve.  

The designation of Paradise, Nevada started during the 70s and population during that time were already more than 20 thousands. Because of the popularity of Las Vegas, the population exploded. Jobs and opportunity is almost unlimited in the city particularly in the area of Paradise.

Because the development of the community is largely based on the people that live there, the ideas for development often comes from the people. As the leaders of the community are also residents they are often asked what they could do to help the community develop. Since Paradise Nevada is still assisted by the local government in Clark County along with the local business, including hotel giants Caesar’s Palace and MGM Grand, the community is continuously improving.  

Community members are highly encouraged to write grants for “community pride” activities. These activities are often geared towards community involvement wherein everyone could join and have fun. The community is even conducting grant writing workshops so that everyone in the community could provide ideas.  

Paradise, Nevada is a small community based organization for census purposes but they have significantly improved over the years partly because of the presence of local business. Through the assistance of the local residents, the non-political community is now one of the well improved communities in the city of Nevada.
