A geographical overview of the city: Lincoln is a beautiful city located in the state of Nebraska in the United States of America. Lincoln is the capital of Nebraska and is the county seat of Lancaster and home to the University of Nebraska. An overview of the city reveals that Lincoln was established in the year 1856 and named after the assassination of the then US President Abraham Lincoln. Then, after the admission of Nebraska into the union, it became the capital of the state and hence emerged as a place of tremendous political and economic significance.

The city has some of the most important state agencies and offices in Nebraska as well as in the United States of America by virtue of it being the capital of Nebraska. The city of Lincoln is located near Salt Creek Lake and near flat saline wet lands of the northern county of Lancaster. The city’s growth over the years has thus led to the full ledged development of the surrounding land.

Places of interest: Lincoln has some of the most beautiful sightseeing places that offer a wide range of tourist attraction to the visitors. The city has an extensive park system with over 100 individual parks. The largest parks in the Lincoln’s park system are the Antelope Park, the Woods Park, the Holmes Park and also a wide number of recreational trail parks.

Lincoln has earned a reputation as being among the most beloved cities of mid west. It is home to some of the finest culinary and artistic treasures of the state that consist of some budding live music scenes, breathtaking parks, trails and golf courses as well as a quite amicable mid western attitude.

The city offers the greatest exhilaration of a big city and the serenity of the countryside all in one place. The national roller skating museum is a favorite place for some interesting childhood pastime.

Lincoln is one of Nebraska’s most significant sports capitals. Some of the leading sports events of the country of Nebraska as well as the United States of America are held in the city of Lincoln. The city has given rise to a large number of players and sports persons of the United States. Today on the world sports map, Lincoln stands as one of the foremost places with quite a leading significance in the domain of sports and sports events.

Due to its increasing importance as one of the foremost cities of Nebraska, Lincoln is now widely recognized by the United Nations as one of the most promising  and one that contributes towards the overall development of the county of Nebraska.
