Emmet County in the state of Michigan in the United States of America has a small village known by the name of Pellston.

According to the census of 2000, the village of Pellston had a population of about 771 people. Being a populated village the density of the area was found to be 402.8 per square mile. The racial and ethnic makeup of the village shows that along with the whites other racial groups also exist in Pellston, though in small numbers. These include Native Americans, African Americans, Pacific Islanders and Asians. People from Hispanic or Latino race can also be found in Pellston. The boy-girl ratio of the village is average and the presence of one sex doesn’t dominate over the other. The per capita income of the village is quite low at about $13,047, being the average household income.

Location and weather conditions:

Known as the “icebox of the nation” the village of Pellston is known for frigid winters and is considered amongst the coldest regions in the United States of America. The village is located on the boundary dividing McKinley Township and the Maple River Township. The village doesn’t have any water body flowing through it. The village of Pellston is 699 feet above the sea level.
