Telluride, CO US – Overview

Telluride is the most populous town in San Miguel County in the state of Colorado. It is located in San Juan Skyway, Colorado. The town was founded in 1878. It has a population of more than 3000 people. The whole valley of Telluride is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and steep forests.

A gondola connects the town with a neighboring town, Mountain Village, which is based at the sky area. Telluride is situated in an isolated region. Due to its isolated location the town of Telluride grew slowly.

Telluride is served by a major highway called State Highway 145 connecting Telluride to Naturita and Cortez. This road is also connected with State Highway 62. Telluride was originally a mining town and now it is famous for being a beautiful Ski Resort.

Telluride offers great attractions for people of all types. Some of the major attractions in Telluride are Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa, Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa, San Juan Hut System, Jed Wiebe Trail, Opera House, Adventure Club, Telluride Ticket, Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club, Sheridan Opera House, Telluride Ski & Golf Co and Telluride Lodging by ResortQuest etc.

With so many recreational spots, it is difficult for the newcomers to decide where to go. There are also terrain parks, nested forests and gardens. Telluride offers adventurous activities for both summer and winter.

Telluride hosts a myriad of festivals. Some of the most popular festivals that are hosted in Telluride are Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Mushroom Festival, Brews, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Chamber Music, Mountain Film, Jazz Celebration and Tech Fest etc.

Telluride is regarded as a perfect family resort.
