Above the coastal mountain range and west of the valley lies the Bay Area of San Francisco that is at a distance of 90 minutes from Modesto. Eastward constitutes the foothills, which house the famous Mother Lode gold country and escort to Yosemite National Park and magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range.

For the adventure enthusiasts, this city presents rafting on Stanislaus River in addition to bike trails all through Modesto, outdoor in line skate boarding and skating at Modesto’s most recent stake park and horseback riding at the area ranches. Modesto’s major attractions
