Irvine Travel Guide, California

Irvine is one of the newest and biggest cities of Orange County, California.  This city is still in progress.  It has three independent districts which are the Police, Education and Utilities.  Fire and Medical Services are provided to the city by the Orange County.

Different races live in Irvine city.  Majority of the residents are White, followed by Asian Americans while only a few percentage of African Americans and Native Americans live in the area.  Other races who are residing in the city are Pacific Islander and Hispanic.

Travel

Irvine is serviced by the Metrolink Orange County Line and the IEOC Line.  The city also has a lot of bicycle lanes to persuade residents to use bikes in order to decrease air pollution.  iShuttle, which is a mass-transit service, has just recently begun its operation in the city.

Climate

Similar to most cities in Southern California, Irvine has a Mediterranean climate. During the summer, days are warm, sunny and hot.  The warmest month is during August.  On winters, be sure to experience a cold weather.  However, the temperature hardly ever goes lower than freezing point.  The coldest days are experienced during the month of January.  Rainfall also occurs during the winter season.

Events

The most renowned event that takes annually in the city is the Irvine Global Village Festival which is celebrated every September.  This event is consisted by exhibits, food expos and entertainments.  This is celebrated each year with the presence of tourists and with the creative minds of its locals.

Attractions

There are surely a lot of things that you can do in Irvine City.  Tourists can choose from a wide range of activities and places that has a relation to the city's history and culture.  Outdoor spots and nature trips, or entertainment and amusement also project its historical heritage.

One of the most popular places in Irvine is the Irvine Museum.  This art museum houses the masterpieces from the Impressionist Period.  Children and kids at heart will surely love the Adventure Playground while adults, especially dads, will enjoy at the Strawberry Farms Golf Club.

Other must-visit places are the Boomers, which is a theme park, and the Wild Rivers Waterpark. Movie lovers can either go to the Irvine Spectrum Centre, which does not only have movie theatres but arcades as well, or they can have an outdoor movie experience on the lawns of Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.

Tourists can also check out the restaurants within the city. Dining places serve different cuisines that vary from American, Italian and Asian.  The latter caters to native dishes from Japan, Thailand and China.  Other remarkable eating pleasures c come from a fusion of Chinese- Brazilian, Mexican, French, Thai and, of course, all-Californian.
