West Bromwich, UK - Sights: Make The Most Of Your Stay In West Bromwich

This town is an industrial town, and has rapidly developed since the iron works establishments in the 19th century. The town has a lot of historic buildings that were done in the Victorian Architecture along with innumerable shopping facilities. It is not generally thought of as a tourist spot. However, different tourist attractions that are seen around the town makes it a worthy tourist destination.

Oak House

This house dates back to the 1600s, and was donated by Alderman Reuben Farley, who gave it away to the people of West Bromwich. Originally, it used to be the family home of the Turtons, and was bought in the year 1898 by Alderman Reuben Farley. There is a great collection of furniture made of oak wood in the house, which is exhibited along with other items that are brought from the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Sandwell Valley Country Park

The Sandwell Valley Country Park has both parkland and woodland in it. The park is provided with lakes that have large numbers of wild fowls in them. There are remnants of an ancient Benedictine monastery inside the Sandwell Valley Country Park. The footpaths within the park include the Beacon Way apart from the several natural trails that are noticed inside the park. It is also noticed that the park contains two parks within it.

Sandwell Park Farm

This farm is located within 2000 acres of the popular Sandwell Valley Country Park. The farm used to be the home of the Earl Dartmouth, who lived nearby in the Sandwell Hall. The Sandwell Park Farm is presently regarded as a tourist attraction that provides tourists with an idea about the history of the nearby area along with an insight how life is in the farms. The main exhibits include a kitchen garden that is walled on all sides, shops of a blacksmith and a wheelwright. Visitors also get to watch a lot of animals ranging from shire horses, poultry, cows, and sheep to pigs. The farm is also known as a venue for several events throughout the year including craft fairs.
