Preston was inaugurated as a city in 2002 and is now regarded as 'England's Newest City.' It is located at the banks of Ribble River. Travelling to Preston is simple. The city has three main North West Airports. These are the Liverpool, Blackpool and Manchester Airports. Yearly, Preston celebrates an array of fun and colorful events. On Easter Monday, the city plays Easter Egg Rolling down the hill. Caribbean Carnival and Town Criers Competition are celebrated in May. In June, they have their Music Festival and in July, they hold the Maritime Festival at the Riversway Complex. Preston conducts the Preston Pot Fair in August and the Historical Fair in September. The most interesting event that Preston celebrates is the Christmas Parade and Torchlight Procession, which is done in December.
