Leeds Nightlife, United Kingdom

Leeds has a famous nightlife in northern England thanks to its legion of bars, discos, nightclubs, brasseries, pubs and other centers of nocturnal entertainment. Join me to hitch a virtual ride through the nighttime entertainment hubs of Leeds.

Mot

This one is a sure fire crowd puller with a grunge and garage flavor. It also features free club nights, a rarity seldom seen in Leeds thus making it a hot favorite with the locals and the students. It has a dance hall called tequila where all the party animals of the town descend on Thursday nights to set the dance floor on fire.

The tequila features kickass garage and grunge tracks, house retro classics and groovy international chartbusters.  The DJs are a mix of resident in house local batch who play on normal nights and guest DJs who make special appearances on theme nights and are invited from local radio stations.

Of course, a dance club named tequila cannot be complete without its famous namesake liquor and the added advantage is that you can tuck into Mexican finger food till the wee hours of the night.

Milo

If you are in search of a more relaxed environment where you can enjoy your drink in peace head for the haven called Milo which is a funky little bar cum café (during the day).

The tame café turns into a cheeky bar as darkness descends with live bands belting out hit numbers to which party hoppers groove from Thursday to Saturday.

Milo’s USP is its cozy intimate atmosphere with lounge sections and the delectable food which is a fusion of oriental, Indian and continental. Good quality liquor and mind blowing cocktails are its other high points.

The Royal Park Pub

This one features live bands thrice a week, karaoke on Tuesdays, pub quiz on Mondays and cabarets in the basement on Tuesday. During summer, you can relax or enjoy outdoors and there’s a no smoking room as well.

You can get chips, burgers, lasagna, veggie bake and other mouth watering finger food for only 3 pounds which is truly affordable. However, lunch times are short, between 12p.m. and 4 p.m.

You can get hold of a sumptuous breakfast on Sundays. It also has a good collection of liquors, alcoholic beverages and a lounge.

Other night time haunts that you may check out are Feast and Firkin, La Cafétiere, The Fruit Cupboard, Baby Jupiter, The Atrium, Norman and Po Na Na among others.
