Pittsburgh is the 2nd biggest city in Pennsylvania and is the county seat for Allegheny County. The city is home of the nation’s National Aviary. A greenhouse of Victorian style is featured in the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and there are also Rodef Shalom Biblical Botanical Garden and Botanic Garden of Western Pennsylvania located in this area.

 One of the major attractions in Pittsburgh is the Lord Venkateswara Temple which is one of the largest Hindu temples in the USA. Other sights to see and visit in Pittsburgh include the following:

Fort Duquesne: This fort was built by the French in 1754 and was destroyed and replaced in 1758 by Fort Pitt. The site, which was earlier occupied by the fort, is now present as Point State Park.

Kennywood: It is a theme park which features 3 old wood coasters, the Phantom’s Revenge, a new steel coaster, Exterminator and an indoor coaster. There are a variety of family friendly rides with 32 attractions of general admission. It is one of the very few parks which allow visitors to bring in their own lunch, except alcohol.

Sandcastle: It is a water park located along the Monongahela River banks. There are 14 water slides, many swimming pools and several other attractions.

US Steel Tower: Also known as Steel Building, it is the tallest building of Downtown Pittsburgh and 35th tallest in US. Built in 1970, it has 64 floors, 256 meters and it has 2,300,000 sq. feet of leasable space.

Pittsburgh zoo and PPG Aquarium: There are only six major combinations of zoo and aquarium in US and this is one among them. Located in the Highland Park, the zoo is spread on 77 acres park land exhibiting more than 4000 animals that represent 475 species. Among these, 70 are endangered or threatened species.

PPG Place: It is one of the main recognizable and distinctive features in Pittsburgh. Actually, it is a complex of 6 buildings with matching designs of glass. The plaza is a famous meeting place especially during the winters when the obelisk and water fountain are covered with an ice skating rink and a large Christmas tree. During summers, the fountain area is frequently visited by families looking to cool off.

Waterfront: It is an open air super-regional shopping mall which spans three boroughs from West Homestead, Homestead to Munhall.

PNC Park: It is a baseball park situated in Pittsburgh. It is the 5th home of Pittsburgh Pirates, the major league baseball franchise of the city.
