Centered on the St. Johns River banks, Jacksonville, FL US is ranked as the third cleanest city of USA. With beaches, dominating the social landscape and river cutting through the downtown running backward, Jacksonville, FL US is a large city with the heart of a small town. Jacksonville nightlife can surely be rocking and most of the places are just casual bars with blue jeans crowds.
As far, as bar activity is concerned, there are two major areas in Jacksonville located only at a distance of two miles from each other: these are the Atlantic beach and the Jacksonville Beach. Clothes other than shorts and jeans are high fashion here and the crowd visiting the place is largely singles from 20-40 years of age. Some of the places also feature live music without cover.
The Pete’s Bar has two rooms and a long bar along with a pool, foosball tables and ping pong tables. There are no laws about smoking in Jacksonville, FL US and Pete’s Bar is quite smoky during the nights. The crowd here is a mix of spouses looking for an escape from their home life, old-time drinking people and vigorous youths who just like to be in this non-pretentious atmosphere. This bar is much more energetic and lively after midnight.
The Sun Dog is a local’s hangout place where live bands of art deco setting are featured in the nights. It is the city’s anchor bar and a place to visit any time any night. It is also one of the most popular beach area’s dinner destinations.
Sunny Caribbee is a well-worn small joint to stir a person’s Caribbean soul and is situated only a few steps above other spots. Ragtime Tavern is a Cajun bar and restaurant, which brews its own beer. This bar as compared to its counterparts in the street makes existence that is more casual where live bands play from Wednesday to Sunday. The Sea Horse Inn features a reggae band and hot crowds are attracted here on Sundays.
Lynch’s Irish pub is a nice place for beer drinking and Ritz is a place for people who want to mingle. It is a basic bar with jukebox and pool tables. People visit here for lust, love and socializing. The younger crowd may prefer the Ocean Club, which has a hot dance floor with DJ. Live bands are also featured here at some nights.
