Abbey Gatehouse

The Abbey Gatehouse is actually the remnants of an old Benedictine abbey. This tourist attraction dates back to the fifteenth century and is famous for the oriel window that is noticed to be highly ornate.

Elton Hall

The Elton Hall had been completed in the year 1666 and the gardens that one gets to see these days is actually recreated using the Mixed Style. Presently, the garden consists of a herbaceous garden, a lily pond and a huge rose garden.

Peterborough Cathedral

Longthorpe Tower

Burghley House

This house was built by the Lord High Treasurer of England, William Cecil, between the years 1565 to 1587. It is known for its huge collection of artworks, antique furniture, tapestries and textiles. The park, which lies around the house, had been built by ‘Capability’ Brown. It is known for being the home of fallow deer, which can be seen quite often while visiting the park.

City Museum & Art Gallery

If visitors want to know more about the heritage of Peterborough, then they must visit this museum. The museum displays items belonging to the local archaeology, social history and geology. It also displays both traditional and contemporary forms of art and showcases digital art.
