Samut Prakan in Thailand is a small yet highly populated Province that is located in the south of Bangkok. The old part of this beautiful and serene city is popularly known as “Paknam” that can be translated into Thai as being the ‘river mouth’. The tourists can have a great time watching the large container ships leading towards the Port of Chao Phraya River. As Samut Prakan is one of the important industrial cities of Thailand, there are a large number of factories that are built in the numerous regions.

The most striking feature of Samut Prakan, Thialand is its colorful and vibrant temples that draw the attention of a large number of tourists from all across the globe. The two major attractions that are worth visiting while on the tour of Samut Prakan include the Crocodile Farm and the Ancient City. Hundreds and thousands of travelers enjoy their stay in this magnificent city and love the calm and soothing environment it provides.

Ideally located at the very start of the Chao Phraya River, the city is only a few kilometers away from Bangkok and is conveniently served by buses. The old community of the city settled in the Phra Pradaeng region in the Ayutthaya Period while the contemporary town and other fortresses were constructed by the orders of King Rama II in the year 1819. The city of Samut Prakan also occupies the total area of about 1000 square kilometers.

Naval Museum- This great museum displays the different models of the aristocrat barges procession along with the utensils and equipment that were used in the warships.

Bung Tako- This is an excellent destination for all those people who are totally mad about playing water sports such as windsurfing and water skiing.  

Crocodile Farm- This is the world’s biggest crocodile farm and a main tourist destination of Samut Prakan. The farm is popularly known for housing more than about 60000 salt water and fresh crocodiles along with providing an interesting show in which a man is presented to be playing with the dangerous animal. The Crocodile Farm is ideally located in close proximity of the Tambon Taiban. Besides the different types and ages of crocodiles, the farm also features other animals like tigers, chimpanzees, snakes and elephants.
