Szczecin Sights – Historical and Cultural Sites

Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes. This is one of the oldest and most beautiful attractions of Szczecin. The castle itself was built during the medieval times but was wrecked during the Second World War. The castle was rebuilt and it is now one of the cultural centers of the city. The details of the castle have Renaissance style of architecture. The site has a bell tower that stands at 58.6 meters and gives a panoramic view of the city. It also houses a museum where sarcophagi of dukes are on display.
Old Town. This is the oldest site in the city established during the medieval ages. The old town has a scenic view of old streets, buildings, and houses. It contains the Town Hall with a 15th century Gothic architectural style and is considered as one of the most beautiful structures in Szczecin. The Town Hall is currently the city museum.
Cathedral Basilica of St. James. This church was established in 1187. It was devastated during World War II and was rebuilt in the 1970’s. It has a 6-ton bell which dates back from the late 1600’s. Within the grounds of the cathedral is a 15th century rectory.
Maiden’s Tower. This site is also called The Tower of the Seven Coats. It was constructed in the 14th century. Originally, it was a prison but after being damaged during the Second World War, parts of the tower were rebuilt in the 1970’s. Maiden’s Tower is now one of the most popular tourist spots of Szczecin.

There are a lot of parks and lakes in the city. These Szczecin Sights can bring fun and amusement to the sightseers.
Park Kasprowicza. This is one of the most beautiful parks in Szczecin. It has plenty of century-old trees. This is a great place to visit during summer because of the scent of the limes filling the air. In addition to that, it also hosts different musical shows during the season.

Tarzania Rope Park. This is one of the newest parks in the city. It provides a lot of recreational activities ranging from different obstacle courses such as ropes, ladders, nets, and footbridges to a good view of the lake and forest.
