Conveniently Located

Located in the center of Metro Manila, it is easy to get to Quezon City.  You can get to the city through Epifanio delos Santos Avenue or EDSA, which is the longest highway in the metro or through Commonwealth Avenue, the widest in the metro.  Due to its size, you can also get to the city through the C-5 highway in the east.

The city is also reachable through the country’s railway stations particularly the MRT 2 and 3 lines.  These lines can take you back and forth from the city of Manila to Quezon City.

From Quezon City, you can get to other destinations in the northern areas of the Philippines through the North Luzon Expressway or NLEX.  Through this city, you can get to other tourist destinations like Clark, Subic, Pampanga, La Union and Baguio.  There are also a lot of available bus terminals from Quezon City that can take you to the Luzon and Visayas regions of the country.

Vibrant Quezon City

The largest city of Metro Manila is Quezon City which already comprises one-fourth of the metro.  Home to the Philippine’s major television companies and important government offices, this city gets its vibrancy from its youth.  One-third of the city’s population is under fifteen years old.  There is a lot to explore in this great city that prides itself as being the best-managed in the Philippines.    

The Former Capital

It was Manuel L. Quezon’s proclamation that made Quezon City the capital of the country from 1948 to 1976, which explains why most of the major government offices are located here.

Quezon City is bordered in the southwest by Manila, while Caloocan City lies to the west and Valenzuela City to the north. South of the city is where you will find the cities of San Juan and Mandaluyong and in the southeast there is Pasig City.  

A Thriving Economy

The city prides itself as a profitable location for businesses mainly because of its large population and work force pool.  In fact, Quezon City currently has 57,000 establishments operating within its borders.  

Quezon City is considered the entertainment capital of the Philippines largely because most of the major broadcasting companies are located here.  Currently, the city houses nine television networks like ABS-CBN, GMA Network and RPN, thirteen radio stations and four print media offices.

The city also plays host to an exciting nightlife with its share of restaurants, bars and clubs along the avenues of Tomas Morato, West and Quezon which are enough to entertain and attract any adventurous tourist.

In Quezon City you are not too far away from the country’s best shopping malls especially if you’re in the Cubao and the North Avenue areas.  You can take your pick from the more upscale malls like Trinoma and Gateway Malls and for those looking for a bargain you can visit the shopping areas of Ali Mall and Farmers Plaza.  The city is also home to the second largest mall in the Philippines that is SM North EDSA.  This mall houses four hundred shops and two hundred dining establishments.
