Dagupan City Travel Guide, Philippines

The city of Dagupan is part of Philippines and is one of the very important cities for the country of Philippines. Same is the reason why the city of Dagupan has been tagged as 1st class city for the country of Philippines and also as independent component city for the province of Pangasinan. The inhabitants from the city of Dagupan also have the tag of creating world’s lengthiest barbecue. This was done somewhere in May 2003 and the length of the barbecue was around 1000 meters. This was done on the occasion of the famous Bangus Festival.

The city of Dagupan is connected to the capital city of Philippines (namely the city of Manila) via 5 different bus lines. These bus lines are Fermina Express, Dagupan Bus Company, Victory Liner, Five Star, and Santrans. The proximity of this city with the capital of Philippines has helped the economy of the city to grow immensely in last couple of decades since the economy of Philippines has started to grow.

The city of Dagupan is very famous when it comes to education as in last many years huge numbers of universities and schools have opened up in different parts of this city. There are around 12 universities in the city of Dagupan and around 24 primary plus secondary institutions. There is also one preparatory school namely Newton Study Center.

Many cities that are too huge in terms of area of expansion and hence are divided into many barangays which is actually a Filipino word for village or district.  Similarly the city of Dagupan has been divided into thirty one different barangays. Some of these 31 different barangays are Malued, Pantal, Mayombo, Tambac, Salapingao, Calmay, Tebeng, Tapuac, Caranglaan, and Bonuan Boquig etc.

Media has recently grown considerable in the city of Dagupan. Some of the famous television channels which can be viewed in the city of Dagupan are ABS - CBN, QTV 11, Studio 23, and GMA Network. Other then this there are around 11 FM Radio channels and 7 AM Radio Channels.

As per the census of year 2000 the population for the city of Dagupan was around 131000 inhabitants that were living in around 26000 houses. The city of Dagupan is also one of the major port cities that helps the economy of North Luzon.
