Camiling is one of the municipalities found in the province of Tarlac. It has long been a second class municipality up until its declaration to gain first class hiatus in November 20, 2001. Since the place is famous for its chicharon, the local government had thought of preparing for a yearly festival to honor this delicacy. The Chicharon and Inuruban Festival is being held every October 26. Camiling is said to be famous for its own church which does not merely symbolize spiritual refuge. This is the so-called Paroquia de San Miguel (St. Michaels’ Parish). This religious artifact is known to symbolize the bravery of the people of the town and their continuous struggle for subsistence. It is now being slowly rehabilitated after it experienced fire in 1997.
The Maria Clara Museum is another travel destination which you need to explore. This has a historical inclination for Jose Rizal’s sweetheart named Leonor Rivera. The lad is known to be the character Maria Clara in one of the national hero’s written novels. In the museum, you will see several mementos of this heroine from the past.
