Just like in any city, historical landmarks and tourist sights are a must-see for you to discover greatness and fondness. In Camiling, there’s that specific beauty that stands out.

Camiling is much famed for its religiosity. The Camiling Catholic Church speaks for the devotion and dedication of locals. It’s interesting in that it was built 1700’s. Although it had gone through being damaged by an earthquake, it was constructed back in 1880’s. The antique interiors of the church wowed several tourists and devotees before. It was also a spot where some historical episodes such as revolutions, defeats and disasters took place. After scorched under fire in 1997, the church’s skeleton is still viewable but restoration is to be gradually done by the town’s government and parish groups. The present church had to be relocated to where Camiling Catholic School Complex was in place. Anothe a religious site is the Camiling Independent Catholic Church that was erected right after series of revolts in the Philippines.

Another site that’s of historical significance is Maria Clara Museum. Leonor Rivera or known as Maria Clara in the novel titled Noli Me Tangere was the love of Philippine’s National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal. He wrote the tale along with another one called El Filibusterismo.  The museum was named after Maria Clara because it’s where she used to reside. Her precious possessions are now displayed as artifacts in the museum. Rizal’s monument is also displayed in a glass. Most tourists would come here with questions about the romance developed between the beautiful Leonor and intellectual Jose. Questions about their romantic linkage are just stimulating to hear. Love is the universal healer of boredom. Thus, hearing a romantic tale will make your day.

If you’re travelling during the last week of October, you will be privileged to catch sight of the Chicharon Festival and Iniruban Festival. Aside from colorful exhibitions, you’ll gaze at the graceful moves of natives coming from various institutions in Camiling. If you’re interested in broadcasting, you can head to Tinang Site Voice of America and be amazed by the radio transmitting equipment that was used by International Broadcasting Service, United States Information Agency and the Voice of America to connect to the world for more than 30 years.

There aren’t numerous sights to catch in Camiling, but if you want ultimate festival experience, come visit in the month of October. Surely, it’s an unparalleled adventure you will keep seizing.
