Although Calamba is generally considered as a progressive cosmopolitan city, it still remains a bit conventional in terms of nighttime establishments. More so because of the traditional culture still embodied in its locals. There are somehow a conservative number of well-known local nightspots and bar lounges that cater mostly to yuppies and young people. But nevertheless, a night in Calamba can still be enjoyed especially in the company of friends.

The Bar Stops

Two of the famous nightspots in Calamba are the Ger’s and Padis Point. They offer servings of local dishes and drinks to go with it. Live music, which is usually played by local bands, accompanies the good food.

Local bar lounges in the area include RSM, the Café Regina, HP Crisostomo Bar and Restaurant, and Leslie’s Terrace Garden, all located within the city’s vicinity.

Along the Pansol area in Calamba, the Halfway 2000 Dance Center is the place to party the night out. The La Vista Pansol Resort Complex and the Monte Vista Hotspring is an accommodating resort venue by day and a busy bash setting at night. The Sun City is also a local site for gigs in Calamba.

For a beach-themed bar, guests can try the Saltwater Bar and Grill along the Pansol National Highway. It’s a great place to hang loose and enjoy the night.

The Venue hosts live band music, dancing and drinks altogether. They also offer a large serving of good eats at reasonable prices.

The Foodstuff

Calamba is undoubtedly brimming with fast-food eateries. Aside from several branches at the city malls, there is still a considerable quantity on Calamba’s streets. For a taste of Filipino cuisine, Max’s Restaurant offers traditional specialties and a different kind of fried chicken.

A famous local restaurant that serves excellent home-cooked Filipino cuisine, and granted recognition by the local government at that, is Aling Ely’s Lutong Pilipino Restaurant

For a fantastic seafood treat, tourists can try the Kamayan sa Palaisdaan. The name of the restaurant says it all; you eat by using your bare hands! The seafood serving is so delectable that you won’t mind how messy it could get. They’re famous for their tilapia (a local fish), sisig (a local delicacy) and ginataang kangkong (leafy greens cooked in coconut milk) and the spicy hot Bicol express.

The Samaral Seafood Restaurant offers good and scrumptious dishes, a relaxing view and outstanding service. Their hearty seafood soup, indulging baked mussels, and appetizing fried tilapia and seafood mix are all-time favorites of locals and guests alike.

Two local delicacies home to Calamba are the espasol, a Filipino rice cake made of rice flour and coconut milk and dusted with a generous amount of rice flour; and the world-famous buko-pie (coconut pie).

Enchanting Theme Park

One of the well-known family attractions in Calamba is Enchanted Kingdom. This theme park, located in Sta. Rosa, is the country’s first. Kids and kids at heart can enjoy the grand rides and brilliant attractions at Enchanted Kingdom. There are also shows and performances being featured occasionally. Even people from out-of-town would visit this theme park attraction.
