Laguna stands as the Philippines’ hot springs and waterfalls region. But besides these natural attractions, Biñan and its surrounding areas have a lot more to offer to visitors who wish to discover the charming beauty and historical wonders of Laguna. From Biñan, several attractions are just a few kilometers drive away.

Relaxing Hot Springs

Most springs resorts are located in the areas of Pansol and Los Baños. The warm waters are both invigorating and calming. Guests can try the Hidden Valley Springs. This private resort lies at the heart of an inactive volcano, with thermal waters of its natural spring pools that are sure to guarantee relaxing moments. Palmridge Private Resort and Joyous Private Resort also offer excellent private amenities and good services. Among other numerous public resorts are the Makiling Waterparks, Crystal Springs, Villa Mejia Resort and Villa Florencia in Pansol to name just a few.

Roaring Rapids

Pagsanjan remains to be one of the country’s main tourist spot attractions. The stunning craggy ravines, rushing waters of the Pagsanjan Falls and the abundance of forest wildlife is absolutely worth visiting.

There are several natural water attractions in the province as well. The Buruwisan Falls in the Sierra Madre Ranges offers unspoiled settings and cool clean waters. The area of Luisiana, Laguna is also host to a number of natural waterfalls like Maapon Falls, the Bongbongan Falls, Malaog Falls, Cabute Falls, and Alimang Munti Falls.

Rustic Mountains

The ranges of Mt. Makiling are favorite climbing spots among mountain climbers and hikers. This resting volcano has abundant lush forest trees and plant species. The mountain slopes seem to resemble a woman on a reclining position, thus a mystical atmosphere surrounding the mountain.

Another famous tourism spot is the Mt. Banahaw. Mountain climbing buffs can have a unique experience as they venture on its mountain slopes. There is an area called “Banal na Lugar” or Holy Place that is also said to be mystical to faith healers and amulet makers.

 Remarkable Places of Interest

For a different kind of day-tripping adventure, guests can visit the Center for the Philippine Raptors which serves as a rescue, rehabilitation and breeding facility for daytime or nocturnal raptorial bird species.

The Museum of Natural History in the University of the Philippines, Los Baños houses different biological specimens used for research and education. The exhibit includes preserved Philippine flora and fauna and the late Dr. Dioscoro Rabor’s unique bird and mammal collections. The Entomology Museum in the same campus features different species of insects that can also amuse any visitor.

The Underground Cemetery may be an odd attraction but it also has a historical significance. The atmosphere is serene with intricate designed walls and tiled walkways, along with the small chapel and tombstones embedded on the cemetery’s brick walls.

The Sampaguita Plantation, in the town of San Pedro, is also a great place to visit. Guests can rouse their interest of the sampaguita flower with its fragrant and sweet smell. The Valesol Haven is a floral farm with a wide selection of cattleyas, vandas, dendroblums and anthuriums that are sure to delight nature trippers.
