Bacolod City Nightlife, Philippines

Who says smiling is only exclusive to those who are happy? Come to the City of Smiles and you’ll know what we’re saying.

People from all over the world are apparently accommodating—all smiling wide to make you feel at home. You can’t call the day a sweet day without experiencing nightlife the Ilonggo way. Almost all restaurants serve everyone’s favorite: San Miguel Light beer or Tanduay Rhum to get you bonded with old and newly found friends. For those who can tolerate sourness with a little sweetness, the local drink called tuba (fermented coconut juice) is a good pick.

For chill-out moments and coffee conversations, you can try Café Bob’s, Bo’s Café or the 888 Chinatown Square. Last-minute shopping is also possible until 9 p.m. at SM Bacolod Mall, Robinsons Place or Gaisano Super Mall. If you haven’t had dinner yet, you should enjoy local dining at the famous Bacolod Chicken Inasal or Gerry’s Grill. If you’re craving for Chinese and Japanese dishes, go to Inaka Restaurant and Bar.

There are a lot of bars to check out for jamming, dancing and karaoke singing. There’s Goldenfield Commercial Complex, MO2 Restobar, Sueno Restobar, Breizh and Moravia next to the Riverside Hospital. At Golden Fields, you’ll see a line-up of restaurants and bars to choose from. Great Bacolod sisig (pork dish) completes your dining experience at KSL or Kubo sa Lawn bistros. The Casino Filipino Hotel Bacolod also gathers the rich and the famous, and even you can belong just for fun. Billiard players are mostly seen at the People’s Village.

The capitol’s lagoon is also a spectacular spot to just relax and see how the lights make the entire town so alive. Night fun is tripled when Maskarra Festival takes place in October where colorful lights, firework displays, entertaining shows and food are just overflowing. It’s a colorful experience that is worth the peek. It will likely make you say life is fun-filled after all. For non-bar-hoppers, you can just go for a peaceful walk at the park or probably be a spectator to those playing badminton, volleyball or dancing at night at the sports complex.

Make the most out of your 3-day trip or maybe a month of immersing yourself into the sweetness of Bacolod’s social life. Congeniality is surely present among the vendors, travel guides, drivers and even kids whose innocence is just fascinating as always. From the moment you step out of the plane to the hours you explore around the city until unwinding at night, your future trip to the City of Smiles will be worth-reminiscing.
