Stavanger is a city in the Rogaland County, which is situated in the southwestern coast of Norway, and it is the fourth largest city in the country. Different means of transportation are available to get into the city. The Stavanger International Airport is located 14km away from the city center. Boat rides connect the city to Bergen and the trip can take around 4 hours and 30 minutes. A ticket costs around $99 but it can be cheaper if bought beforehand.

Another option in reaching Stavanger is by train. The railway connects the city to Oslo and the trip takes approximately 8 hours. Traveling by train requires reservations.

There are easy options when touring around the city center though. One can either simply walk around or rent a bicycle. When going to other parts of Stavanger, commuters can choose to ride a bus or a taxi.

Precipitation in the city averages at 46 inches annually and pours mostly during autumn. The average annual temperature in Stavanger can be as low as 32 degrees Fahrenheit to as high as 60 degrees Fahrenheit. July and August are the hottest months while January is the coldest month.
