North Shore Sights and Landmarks Guide, New Zealand

There are plenty of sights to see in North Shore, New Zealand; however, one of the funniest things to do is take a helicopter ride to see the whole city.  One of the companies that does this is North Shore Helicopters, which is the premier Helicopter Company in New Zealand.  It is based in Auckland's North Shore, where they offer a variety of flying experiences that include corporate transport, flying instruction, luxury dining, and scenic tours.  They also offer catering services, photography services, and much more than that.  They have a helicopter fleet of 4 that includes the BK117, which can carry 7 passengers; the EC130, which can carry 6 passengers; the Robinson R44, which has a capacity for 3 passengers; and the Jet Ranger, which is for 4 passengers.

Long Bay Regional Park is a great place in North Shore where you can go on a stroll around a park and on the beach while you enjoy the view of the Hauraki Gulf, as well as the marine reserve across the bay.  There are walkways, picnic areas, a playground for children, sea kayaking, and a historic Vaughan homestead.  The playground in the park has a mini-train that the kids can play on.  The beach is safe for swimming, and there are changing rooms and toilets close by.  If you want to have a barbecue or a large picnic, it is advised that you make a booking, as this is a very popular destination.

Harbourside Art Trail is something fun that you can do, which requires you to take a drive.  You can take your time visiting the studios of craftspeople and local artists in Northcote and Birkenhead.  The visits are complemented with the chance for you to relax at a contemporary café and see the best bush reserves.

Devonport Village is a popular destination that visitors go to see, and it only takes 10 minutes on a ferry from downtown Auckland City.  Devonport is a heritage delight and is easy to explore by walking.  It has a village like atmosphere with art galleries, interesting boutiques, elegant villas, and cafés.  This village is also home of the naval base of the country, as well as the Navy Museum.  This place hosts a craft market every month and numerous yearly events that include the food and wine festival, which is popular, and the arts festival.
