Windhoek Nightlife, Namibia

With the thriving and on the rise economy of Windhoek, it has adjusted to almost a Western way of living. During the day, the city is bustling with European cafes and most of its buildings have an obvious German influence. However, Namibian influence can be found on the quality and quantity of meat products because Windhoek is predominantly a carnivorous city.

During the night, the scene is different. Although the choices for clubbing and night fun are few, nonetheless, you are assured that you will have a good time should you head to these clubs. A night out is never complete without a few sips of cocktails or a few bottles of beer and liquor. In Windhoek, you will never have to worry about it. Funky Lab located in Hidas Centre, Klein Windhoek is among local popular junctions especially on Wednesdays, Friday and Saturdays. It is a party scene during weekends where beer and drinks are very affordable yet tasty.

Luigi and the Fish just a few yards from the airport is home to perfect seafood dishes. Just next to it is La Dee Das, where one can dance the night away. Joe’s Beer Garden completes the whole beer experience when in Windhoek that is always packed with locals and travelers.

The Wine Bar is located on a hill overlooking the city known for its fantastic sunset fit for any romantic day. For the rock or metal enthusiasts, Blitzkrieg Bunker Bar is the place to be. It is home to a laid-back environment, fantastic crown and of course, the best drinks in town.

However, should you be up only for a dining experience, there are several restaurants all over the city. Abyssinia on Veld Street is home to authentic Ethiopian meals, that you can eat the traditional way or in a more Westernized manner. It is somewhat expensive but it is really all worth it.

La Dolce Vita inside the Kaiserkrone Center Windhoek has Pizza and Pasta dishes and salad that is the best in town. Sardinia, as the name suggests, is another Italian restaurant that is worth the visit. They serve pasta, pizza and the ice cream.

The choices for dance spots may not be as many compared to other world cities but the restaurants over-compensate for this. The delicious food coupled with the best drinks is a welcome distraction at night or during any other time of the day. Nightlife, in Windhoek though, is never boring and that is for sure.
