Zapopan Sights and Landmarks Guide, Mexico

Despite its industrial background, Zapopan has a variety of natural touristic destinations such as rivers and forests that many people enjoy hiking in. There are also tons of monuments that are fascinating considering the Mexican culture. Zapopan is a great place to go sightseeing because of its variety of attractions. As previously mentioned, Zapopan is an industrial city so you can take a day just to visit all of the beautiful and modern buildings that this city boasts while going on a shopping spree at one of the large shopping centers that it possesses. You can visit the Plaza del Sol, Plaza Milenium or the Centro Magno. Here you will find all of the hottest stores around where you’ll love to shop. There is also another large mall that is still under construction and has tentative plans to open in 2009. It is called the Torrena.

If you are looking for a relaxing day, you can take a hike by the Santiago River Canyon or the Primavera Oak Forest. Here you will be able to relax at an amazing spa that will take all of your worries away.

The city is also adorned with various international monuments. The rarest of those is the Minerva which was erected in 1959. Mexico is a Catholic country that is very religious, yet this monument depicting the Roman Goddess, Minerva, stands tall at the Acros de Guadalajara. Although still under construction for its seventh year, the Acros del Millenio attracts various tourists as it was built in honor of the Milenium.

The Basilica of Zapopan is another popularly visited touristic destination where many religious people make pilgrimages every year.
