Mexico is a popular destination with plenty of wonderful ports waiting for you to explore from the Mexican Riviera to the wildlife-rich Sea of Cortez. Mexico is a destination with a rich offer: nice braches, scenic landscape, wonderful wildlife, plenty of interesting history and nice shops where you can buy all kinds of souvenirs.
Among the most famous stops is Acapulco, a scenic port that beautifully blends natural beauty with modern buildings. The contrast between old and new is also present and it adds to the beauty of the city. Shopping is excellent and entertainment opportunities abound. It is one of the busiest and most crowded destinations.
Close to Acapulco is Manzanillo one of the largest ports of the Pacific Coast that competes with Acapulco in beauty and attractions it has to offer. You can see the Pyramids of La Campana, tropical gardens, plenty of beautiful markets excellent for shopping local art crafts and you can walk on the waterfront which is quite scenic. If you have time you can visit the resorts one the coast and get some sun on one of the beaches.
Puerto Vallarta is another stop along the route. It is smaller that Acapulco and it still retains some of the old village atmosphere and the presence of the old red-tiled buildings gives you the possibility to imagine how it was to live here in the 1960s.
In Mazatlan besides nice beaches you will have the chance to taste some delicious shrimps, one of the best quality local cuisines. Of course shrimps are not the only tasty specialties you can taste here. Visiting Mazatlan you can see how some local art is made: tiles, bricks, pottery and other crafts.
Loreto is one of the quiet ones and it will come like a pleasant change as you will be able to relax, the place is not overcrowded with tourists and you will be able to stroll the cobbled plaza in peace and enjoy the architecture.
Whale watching at Cabo San Lucas, is the most appreciated activity besides fishing. the waters abound in all types of fish and even if you don’t want to fish you can taste some of the freshest fish cooked local style.
Topolobampo, is a deep water harbor, a gateway to Copper Canyon, and the place where you can see the mansion of Don Diego de la Vega, "El Zorro”. It is a much appreciated spot and it is a fairly quiet port.
Whether you are looking for local architecture, wonderful beaches, local arts, good food and plenty of entertainment, Mexico is the destination to choose.
