The city of Colima is surely one of the hidden treasures in the country of Mexico. The beautiful city situated right beneath two heavy volcanoes which makes their location even more exciting. The history and people living in the city of Colima can be related to the ancient days of Mexico thus reflecting that this city has also played an important role in shaping the history of Mexico. The city of Colima has many reasons that make it a must visit place for national as well as international tourists.

The climate of Colima has little humidity with semi – dry atmosphere. The humidity isn’t experienced in the main parts of the city. It’s the coastal regions and different low lying areas of Tecomán Valley. It is the transition zone between the mountain range and the coastal plain where the semi dry climate is actually observed. In the regions nearby the Volcano climate becomes semi warm due to the internal heat which the volcanoes have.

The average temperature for the city of Colima is around 24 degree Celsius. To be precise the climate for the city of Colima is of three different types. The semi dry climate is observed mostly in various municipalities like Tecomán and Armenia. In these regions the temperature can touch the heights of 38 degree Celsius and can go down to the minimum of 20 degree Celsius. The other climate is the warm – sub humid climate which is actually experienced in some of the most humid regions of this city like the municipalities of Colima and Minatitlan etc. The third kind of climate is the temperate climate which is part of various north western sections of the state.

 In short, the climate of Colima is very pleasant and hence most suitable for the locals as well as the tourists that hit the city every now and then.

As per the census of year 2005 the population for the city of Colima was around 124000 inhabitants. On the other hand the population for the municipality of Colima was around 133000 inhabitants as per the same census. The municipality of Colima stretches over an area of around 670 kilometer square. Lastly the metropolitan area of Colima had the population of around 324000 inhabitants as per the same census of year 2005.
